K-3 Teacher ~ Miss Sam
I grew up in San Diego County, went to San Marcos High School and attended Northern Arizona University, graduating with a B.S. in Elementary Education and an emphasis in History. While in college, I was a part of Kappa Delta Pi, an educational honor society. I then taught fourth and second grade for two years in Flagstaff, Arizona.
My passion for gifted education started at a young age, as a dissatisfied student within the public school system. I strongly believe that every student should be challenged, and I intend to do my best to challenge each of my students. I also believe one is never done learning and so I strongly advocate lifelong learning.
I've recently started a Masters of Education with an emphasis in gifted education on-line through Arizona State University. When not at school, I enjoy quilting, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, reading, and cooking.
"I've never seen a teacher give so much of herself, or care so deeply about her kids, or better prepare them for their future—both academically and socially.
The level of respect and support her kids have for each other is unparalleled, and a direct result of her expectations and teaching style."
